Happened to see this shop after my wife sent me to HEB to pick up some meat to grill. Stopped here instead, just to see what it was about. So glad I stopped! Super friendly and very knowledgeable staff. It was super clean, had a great selection of meats and accessories, and great prices as well. This will definitely be my new go-to place for meats, seasonings, marinades, and anything else grill related. (They even had pup related treats!) Firing up the grill as I type! 🔥

Great respectful people! Shout out to Ocean!! Great meats, fresh sides (black parmesan roasted broccoli, white cheddar mac and cheese, bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers, loaded smashed potatoes) i love the dark meat chicken bulgogi just picked up a couple lbs., Also picked up some ground beef and boneless pork chops this go around and cant wait to cook! I recommend signing up for the member deals and passing the good word along what these people are doing here. Only butcher shop i need to know. Can't wait to plan my next meal 😋

Stumbled across them right after they opened. Found some beef marrow bones for my 6 month old daughter. Decided to come back with the wife. They are extremely friendly. The shop is clean, and they made sure I was taken care off. They were out of tenderloin (it was Sunday afternoon) - but they cut some Wagyu sirloin for me. Beautiful cut. He also threw in a free Denver steak for the “inconvenience”, was no big deal to me, but very nice gesture. Jerky was pretty solid too. I signed up for their rewards and they gave me some free koozies. I’ll definitely be back, good luck to the new business! Yall definitely need to check them out.

I stumbled across this shop by accident today. Had a wonderful conversation with a couple of the folks and bought some extra food for this weekend. Beautiful store, excellent prices for prime meats, great selection, knowledgeable staff. My favorite part is that they have a heart for our community! I'll be back.

What an incredible addition to McKinney! We stopped by for the grand opening, and although it was packed, the service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and kept everything running smoothly despite the crowds. The samples were absolutely delicious! The grill was going nonstop, and the cheddar jalapeño sausage and steak fresh off the grill were amazing. My favorite beef jerky flavors were the garlic and, of course, the lemon pepper…they were both outstanding! I couldn’t leave empty-handed and brought home the marinated Argentine chicken and marinated Bulgogi chicken. I can hardly wait to throw them on the grill! From premium meats to homemade specialties, there were so many delicious goodies to choose from. If you’re looking for quality meats, great customer service, and an overall fantastic shopping experience, Southern Steer Butcher is definitely worth a visit. Go check them out. You won’t be disappointed!
